brooklyn.

hello brooklyn.

a few weeks ago i took a spontaneous trip to brooklyn…it had been forever since i took a weekend off, and i’d never spent any time in brooklyn, so i figured a road trip was in order. it poured rain on saturday, and was shockingly springlike on sunday, which lent itself to the perfect combination of exploring the various neighborhoods, ducking into pubs + boutiques to escape the downpour, and eating al fresco when the sun shone. highlights included staying at the simple + chic Nu hotel, an afternoon at the brooklyn brewery, and the stunning view of manhattan at dusk from DUMBO.

oh! and even though ive been to nyc a million times, this was the first time i spotted the statue of liberty! she was perfectly silhouetted against the setting sun…fancy!

earlier this week i had the opportunity to meet + photograph the very talented calligrapher lee ann clark for baltimore bride magazine! lee ann greeted me with a huge smile and a beautiful jar of raw honey from her farm, carriage house farms – how fabulous is that? stay tuned for the upcoming feature on lee ann’s calligraphy in the next issue – or contact her for more info!

james: lifestyle family session!

adrienne + steve = james. excellent formula.

oh, james!

james is one seriously cool kid and he’s oh so incredibly adorable! i had the absolute best time ever running the streets of annapolis after this little guy – he was super adventurous climbing all over and exploring everything. truth be told, he started the session a little skeptical of me – giving me some super serious looks, but i totally won him over (check out the high-five he gave me below!) and managed to get some sweet smiles and a few laughs! i mean, the kid is seriously stylish – and with his cool outfit, big blue eyes, and super blonde locks, i fell in love with him immediately. let’s be honest – he’s the cutest thing ever with a personality to match. proof: we’re walking downtown and james wanders into a bar to start dancing…turns out he loves to dance…to frank sinatra no less…*smitten*!

i *love* family sessions!

i was so excited to finally meet baby charlotte today – yay! charlotte is the baby of one of my all-time favorite couples – the fabulous melinda + tim! of course charlotte is super cute, sweet as can be, and she has a little red mowhawk! love! more to come soon!
