nicole + nick :: in love in park city.

main street, usa.

nothing makes me happier than being able to photograph the people i love, especially ones that are in love!

nicole is one of my very best friends and favorite people in the world — she’s exuberant, hilarious, brilliant, and a fabulous cook — did i mention she’s hilarious? we share the same sense of humor and appreciation for the ridiculous and i miss her being part of my life every day!  im sad that we live so far away from each other now, but i love visiting her in park city, utah. as fabulous as sundance + snow are, i was thrilled to see park city in autumn — perfection! and in all the years ive known nicole i have never seen her happier or more beautiful than she is right now. i was so excited to snap some quick shots of her and her boyfriend nick on main street — they are such a fun couple and truly bring out the best in each other, which makes me so happy.

enjoy!

harper :: lifestyle family session.

hello harper!

i had the most wonderful time visiting my friend holly + her gorgeous family! it’s been years since i’ve seen her — and our early morning family session was a striking change from our old late night karaoke rendezvous! yay for facebook and fantastic friend (re)connections! holly was just as fun + beautiful as ever, and glowing with happiness! and with good reason — she’s head over heels in love with a hunky hubby and darling new baby! little harper is 8 months old and has the cutest personality (and beautiful face!) and i absolutely loved spending the morning with this family!

enjoy!

kathy + ulisses :: engaged!

science,  japanese gardens, and lots of love…chicago style.

kathy + ulisses are getting married! in mexico! and there’s going to be a tequila donkey! but wait, im getting ahead of myself…

kathy + ulisses are engaged! and they are loving life in chicago — enjoying being in the same city together and planning their awesome celebration south of the border. chicago was the first stop on my recent trek across the country, and i had so much fun hanging out with them, from margaritas + karaoke the night before, to the wine tasting after our session, it was a great weekend! kathy + ulisses are a fabulous + fun couple — they have great chemistry and share an incredible sense of humor. we spent the afternoon exploring the museum of science + industry and wandering through the japanese gardens behind the museum — the site of the 1893 world fair. i had yet another fabulous time shooting in chicago, and i am so happy kathy + ulisses chose me to be their photographer — i cannot wait until they tie the knot — enjoy!

dhillon :: lifestyle family session!

sunshine + smiles at the arboretum.

one very happy little boy at the national arboretum in washington, dc.

i love the national arboretum. it’s an incredible gem in the middle of the city — a vast expanse of refreshing greenery and abundance of shade, it’s the ideal place to spend a summer afternoon! i was very excited to meet dhillon and his family at the arboretum a few weeks ago for a fun family session, grandparents and all! dhillon and his daddy are too cute for words and this little man completely stole my heart with his dapper outfit and *amazing* smile!

enjoy!

kelly + sam :: engaged!

backstage pass.

sam + kelly :: engaged! :: university of maryland, college park.

i was absolutely thrilled when kelly wrote to tell me she + sam were engaged — he popped the question just weeks after kristi + jon’s awesome wedding where kelly was a bridesmaid! even more awesome, kelly is kristi’s younger sister — so fun! kelly + kristi (like most sisters) are similar in some ways, but very different in others. they are both gorgeous blondes and totally in love, with incredible, positive energy. however, while kristi + jon are total hams in front of the camera, kelly + sam are much more mellow (dare i say, camera shy?) — in fact, when i went back to look for pics of them at kristi + jon’s wedding i only had one photo of sam from the entire night! it was great to see them again, and i loved getting to know them better during our session.

they met and fell in love a few years ago while attending the university of maryland — they worked together at the performing arts center (which is how they first met) and so we started our session in the theatre. it was very cool to have all access to such a unique spot, and with so much meaning! from there we ran all over campus, chasing the sun and visiting some of their favorite spots — the mall + fountain, the sun dial, jim henson’s statue, the famed bronze testudo, and even a topiary version of the beloved mascot. it was a gorgeous summer evening and i’m so very excited for this fabulous couple!

a huge congrats to kelly + sam — enjoy!

dylan: inspiration through art session!

sweet *dyl* pickle.

one-year-old dylan has a scar that symbolizes strength & love, amidst struggle.

just one day after his birth, newborn dylan was diagnosed with congenital heart defect. unable to breathe on his own, he was placed on a ventilator, transferred to another hospital, and underwent angioplasty for his pulmonary valve. for the next three months dylan’s health steadily declined as he faced serious issues, ultimately leading up to open heart surgery. just days following the surgery on his pulmonary artery dylan was doing something he had never done before — smiling. since then, dylan has grown into a happy, healthy, and strong little boy who just celebrated his first birthday — everything his family could ever want for him!

i was honored to be chosen by dylan’s family for a portrait session in collaboration with inspiration through art (formerly the littlest heroes project) — and i absolutely loved meeting all of them! dylan has two amazingly wonderful parents (who are *so* in love and *so* great!) as well as an older sister and brother who simply adore him. dylan was simply delightful — all too happy to oblige for the photo session as long as we let him rub his little feet in the grass! he was super inquisitive and perfectly adorable and i feel very lucky to know him and his story. dylan will need at least one more open heart surgery to replace the deformed pulmonary valve, but hopefully that is many years away! in the meantime, i know this family will be living and loving to the fullest, never taking anything for granted.

enjoy!
