tucker blair: the lifestyle shoot.

tucker blair: classically casual.

on sunday i shot the second part of the tucker blair photo shoot. our first shoot focused on great product + detail shots, and this time we captured the lifestyle + personality that epitomize the brand. i had a great time with these guys and i think we caused quite a stir with all the belt grabbing, tossing and yanking! luckily no belts were harmed in the making of any of these images…

lindsey + chris: engagement photos.

yay for cherry blossoms!

i met lindsey + chris just after dawn at the jefferson memorial for our engagement shoot yesterday morning…the blossoms were beautiful as expected, and lindsey + chris are so sweet, i really enjoyed getting to know them better. we were a little rushed (they had to go to work afterwards!) but we managed to find a bunch of cool spots and get some amazing photos!

enjoy!

rockstar roadtrip.

on monday i attended the rockstar roadtrip hosted by corey mcnabb + amber holritz here in dc. they are traveling up the east coast talking to photogs about everything from shooting to marketing to albums and other print products. not only are they are both brilliant photographers, but they have fantastic personalities. it was a great way to recharge for wedding season (2 down, 20+ to go!) and i picked up a lot of great ideas. i really enjoyed meeting corey and amber (and corey’s awesome wife jill!) as well as the rest of the local dc photogs who attended. after the all-day seminar we went out for dinner + drinks…at some point i busted out my camera and was lucky to capture some of corey’s magic tricks…the hilarious suzanne behsudi was so funny and *so* amazed at corey’s tricks! loved it!
special thanks to the generous jessica del vecchio for letting me play with her 16-35 which let me get the super W I D E shots!

*it should be noted that corey’s tricks were spot on…from cards to quarters, it appears he is as good with magic as he is with the camera!

the mojave desert.

mojave-desert-16.jpg

there is nothing quite like driving through the california desert…especially with two fantastic friends who are also fantastic photographers. last week the photo road trip continued east from san diego into the colorado and mojave desert. every few miles we’d stop the car and get out to explore the incredible surroundings. this time of year the desert sun is warm and strong, but the air was so crisp and cool – it was completely amazing.

also, i discovered that i am pretty much in love with cactus – something i didnt really know until i stood in the center of a massive cholla garden…the prickly flowering cacti stretched along the sand as far as the horizon, where the desert floor seemed to rise directly into SNOW CAPPED mountains. incredible! there were also the fabulously photogenic ochillo cactus + the starkly beautiful joshua trees. not to mention fields of vibrant purple and bright yellow flowers everywhere, and the unforgettable blooming orange trees whose citrus gardenia scent permeated the air…ahh!

i simply loved the experience of just being in the middle of the blooming desert – once again completely awed by the beauty of nature. and lucky enough to have captured just a bit of with my camera.
