michelle + jerry: engagement.

michelle + jerry are one of the busiest couples i know! factor in everything they are busy doing + my maniacal schedule and it’s no wonder we haven’t been able to do an engagement shoot yet! yesterday we finally caught up and i got the chance to photograph them together – for all of 15 minutes! they were en route to a wedding and looking fantastic, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and got some great shots! i’m very excited for their late august vineyard wedding! can’t wait!

baby evan.

yay for baby evan and his super cool parents rachel + andy! i had the best time visiting with this new family on friday, for my very first newborn portrait/lifestyle session! evan is eight weeks old and so adorable! he has the most amazing eyes and a very expressive little face! when i arrived he was just waking up (he sleeps A LOT!) and rachel + andy stood over his crib and rachel sang to him as he woke up…i loved it! the three of them have such a great bond and make a fantastic family…i can’t wait to photograph them again very soon!

national rehabilitation hospital.

i had the privilege of meeting sharon sellers, a phenomenal woman and passionate tennis player, this week. i photographed sharon at practice for the national rehabilitation hospital, as she recently had surgery on her right shoulder and is, as evident from the photos, a wonderful example of the great work done at the hospital! i really enjoyed meeting and photographing sharon, and after watching the girls at practice i’m thinking maybe it’s time to break out my (fabulous, never-been-used) tennis racquet…

jennifer + jeffrey: married!

a walk in the park.

jen + jeff are pretty much awesome. therefore, it should be no surprise to anyone that their wedding was incredibly awesome. it’s been exactly one week since jen + jeff tied the knot, which means i’ve had 7 days of obsessing over their gorgeous photos while they are soaking up the sun in costa rica, reveling in their newly-wed status…i can only imagine how thrilled they are, because i’m still reeling from that day.
the wedding was full of so many inspiring moments – i feel so lucky to have been able to capture it all. one of my (many) favorites was that jen donned her mother’s wedding dress for a few portraits before putting on her own dress…how great is that! also, jen + jeff are runners, and chose to spend over an hour walking through dumbarton oaks, strolling down lovers’ lane and pausing briefly amidst the breathtaking scenery. it seemed like the whole park was in bloom and both bride + groom were absolutely glowing.
the ceremony was unbelievably moving – jeff’s sister was the officiant and she did an incredible job of putting into words the unique love and connection that jen + jeff share. they wrote their own vows and i was so inspired by their love. once again, it was a true honor to witness such a perfect union, and simply amazing to be able to photograph it!
and then the reception! it was an exhilarating celebration of love, laughter, happiness and family. i was on the floor, standing on chairs and dodging in and out of some of the wildest dancing i’ve seen in a long time – it was fantastic!

jen + jeff: you are beyond inspiring. i loved every minute of your wedding and i am so honored to have been able to share it with you! thank you so much! enjoy the rest of your honeymoon and CONGRATS!!

the abandoned shores of the salton sea.

the photo road trip continued to the towns surrounding caifornia’s surreal salton sea…standing at the base of the former lake’s shores we were 200 ft. below sea level and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. remnants of life – scattered trash, an abandoned motel, half empty trailers, appliances stuck in the mud – are everywhere. they are proof that life existed here, in this former resort town, when the salton sea once drew people to its shores. people still come, but instead of the vacationer it’s the odd tourist, or more likely the curious photographer. i absolutely loved exploring this area, although at times it was completely freaky. wandering in and out of the abandoned homes was a bizarre and incredible experience. i treasure all these photos!

evolution of style.

EOS: evolution of style.

last month i went up to nyc for a street/lifestyle shoot for a new company called evolution of style. eos is the collaboration of two very cool guys with a whole lot of fashion-know-how. the company aims to take the personal shopping experience to the next level by providing stellar service, connecting clients with new, innovative designers, and truly creating a personal style that evolves with the individual.

i had a fantastic time with everyone shooting all over the city (despite the tremendous downpour!) and can’t wait to do another shoot! look for these favorites and more v. soon on their new website: www.evolutionofstyle.com.
