honfest!

i’m *so* excited for honfest this weekend! if you still don’t know about this oh-so-fabulous and oh-so-baltimore festival check out the website or read about the kitschy charm of baltimore in this recent article from the new yorker magazine!

BLONDE PHOTO is delighted to have a tent (i may have already mentioned this but i really am *so* excited, can you tell?) where all sorts of fun will be taking place, including a hon-themed photo booth! i will also be moving throughout the crowds documenting the day, but you will be able to spot me in one of my sweet BLONDE PHOTO t-shirts! look for the pink logo which is on everything…including the 200 balloons we will be passing out from our tent – WOOHOO!

honfest is taking place in hampden on saturday from 11-8 and sunday from 12-6 – so come on out, hon! you’re sure to love it! there will be live music, great food vendors, and tons of activities, as well as a beer garden :) – so it’s fun for all ages!

national marine sanctuary foundation: awards gala.

preserve. protect. promote.

last week i had the opportunity to photograph the 6th annual national marine sanctuary foundation leadership awards dinner. held in the beautiful atrium of the ronald reagan building, the evening recognized and honored volunteers and leaders in the community, including speaker nancy pelosi and senator barbara mikulski. additionally, the famed dr. sylvia earl (chair, deep ocean exploration and research + explorer-in-residence national geographic society) and jean-michel cousteau (president, ocean futures society) were both honored with lifetime achievement awards for their stellar commitment to ocean exploration, research and preservation.

daniel ho, three-time grammy award winning musician and producer, closed the evening with a amazing performance.

marketing: part I.

my first marketing attempt for this fabulous little company: BLONDE PHOTO.

a preview of the front of the post cards i’ll be distributing this weekend at HONFEST…

BLONDE PHOTO has a 10×10 tent right in the middle of all the action – i’m *so* excited! and overwhelmed! and EXCITED!

as the official photog of the HONFEST, i’ll be taking photos of the crowd, the activities and the contests, but also be at my tent where we are setting up a HON-tastic photo booth where you can get your photo taken in hon apparel…think feather boas, leopard prints, and fancy glasses…YAY!

tewaaraton: 2008 trophy.

the premier collegiate lacrosse award.

last night the tewaaraton award foundation honored outstanding men’s + women’s lacrosse players at an awards banquet at the national museum of the american indian.

the 2008 trophy was awarded to hannah nielsen of northwestern university, and mike leveille of syracuse university.

it was a fantastic event, with a cocktail reception and dinner prior to the awards ceremony, where guests and lacrosse finalists + awards recipients mingled and enjoyed the museum. i learned a lot about the history of lacrosse and how the tewaaraton foundation honors the heritage of the sport. i was so impressed by the athletes and excited to document such an awesome evening!

GAUCHO III: the party.

the flair and beauty of argentina at GAUCHO III.

saturday night i photographed GAUCHO III: an absolutely fantastic event at a private residence in dc. the decor was stunning, and the cuisine + cocktails followed suit. decked out in everything from polo’s + khakis to swanky cocktail dresses + tuxedos, everyone looked fabulous and had a great time. once again, a great party!

jacob + kathryn: baptism.

a family welcomes twins into their life and their faith.

surrounded by their closest family and friends, four-month old twins jacob flynn + kathryn eilis were baptized on saturday morning. in the arms of their loving parents and new godparents, the twins were baptized by their uncle, father keith. it was such an intimate and beautiful ceremony, a private celebration of love and faith. the prayers of their entire community welcomed these babies into the world, and will no doubt continue to guide and support them. jacob + kathryn have an amazing family and i feel very privileged to have met them and documented this special occasion in their lives!
