brooke + dave: engaged!

oh, brooke + dave!

i love love loved everything about this session (and it wasn’t *just* because they gave me a bag of candy!) – it was because this couple is so cute and so fun! i can’t imagine a better way to spend a rainy fall afternoon than running around town with brooke + dave…they are so happy together and a little rain didn’t bother them at all! besides, dave proposed in the pouring rain in costa rica, so it was kind of fitting for them…plus, i carry an arsenal of hugemongous umbrellas so i had us covered ;)

georgetown was abuzz preparing for halloween festivities, and it was such an awesome feeling to be doing our own sweet thing in the middle of the chaos – yay for engagement photos on halloween!

jen + wayne: engaged!

jen + wayne are engaged!

last thursday was the most gorgeous fall day, absolutely perfect for a photo session! we started in their neighborhood near the national cathedral and made our way down to georgetown to the bustling action of m street as well as the serenity of the canals. jen + wayne are sweet, funny, smart, and totally in love – i really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them and watching them interact with each other. they were up for anything and took me to some of their favorite spots for super cute photos. they have great energy and i *loved* watching them dance and jump around in the alleys, their shadows bouncing around behind them…so fun!

jessi + joe: the neon graveyard.

what better way to start a whirlwind wedding weekend in fabulous las vegas than a photo shoot in a surreal neon graveyard?

i was *thrilled* to visit the neon museum and take jessi + joe on a tour of the boneyard for a quick session! i love las vegas and i love spontaneous, confident couples and i honestly couldn’t love anyone more than jessi + joe! jessi is my gorgeous, amazing little sister and it was fantastic to be able to document their love + excitement all weekend!

this session was so crazy – jessi + joe flew in to vegas that morning, i picked them up, ran them downtown to the get their marriage license, dropped them at the venetian where they did a quick change, and then took off to the neon museum for our session! it was a super sunny vegas afternoon, but we had such a good time exploring the old signs and wandering through the iconic debris. we were all bursting with excitement for their wedding (the next day!!) and i am so glad i had the opportunity to shoot such a fantastic couple in this ridiculous location – i can’t wait to return!

mo + robert: engaged!

the time of the season.

mo + robert are engaged!

i was delighted to meet this awesome + energetic couple a few weeks ago for an engagement session downtown. summer was just rolling out and it was a perfect fall evening to stroll around the pond near the lincoln memorial – a long time favorite spot of theirs and a first for me! the late afternoon light was surreal and i took every advantage to shoot directly into the sun, since i think nothing is more magical than wild, unruly sunflare!

we walked and talked and shot and laughed for almost two hours, and i’m so glad i got to meet this couple. they are so cute together, very funny, and totally passionate about travel + music, and of course, each other! i’m constantly amazed at how lucky i am to attract the *most* wonderful couples who are willing to open their lives + hearts to me – spending time with happy people in love is such a joy!

julie + patrick: engagement party!

country chic.

big red barns + twinkling white lights make me very, very happy.

imagine taking a perfectly picturesque venue and decking it out with buckets of bright yellow mums, bales of hay, clusters of corn stalks and big orange pumpkins. then mix in a totally rockin’ band, great food, 150 or so happy family + friends, and one of the nicest, cutest couples ever. the result was a simply fabulous celebration for julie + patrick! yay!

i was thrilled to document this event, and excited to trek out to poolesville and check out pat’s family farm. although it was a very wet + rainy evening, the barn provided perfect shelter and an unbelievable atmosphere for all the excitement surrounding this couple! i literally shrieked with delight when i saw the fantastic barn all lit up, and didn’t stop smiling from the moment i met julie + patrick. they absolutely exude goodness + happiness. they are getting married next fall and i know they are looking forward to an exciting year of planning and celebration – woohoo!

joe + sean: lifestyle session!

joe + sean + chicago = the time of my life.

i had *the* best time ever running the streets of downtown chicago with joe + sean the morning of their wedding! yes! en route to the hotel with their suits in the car we decided to spare an hour, during which they gave me a mini-tour of chicago’s iconic public art! amazing. it was a gorgeous fall day and they were both so happy + excited – i just love the energy that comes through in these images!

since joe + sean had a private ceremony a few months ago in connecticut (hence the wedding bands) this mini-session was just another excuse to hang out with them and get some great, relaxed photos that represent their love + life in chicago. shooting a lifestyle session the morning of the wedding was a new experience for me and i loved it! we were all giddy with excitement and it was the perfect way to start the day!
