snow day.

dc officially got its first snow this week – after a full day (and night) of semi-serious flurries, the city lay quiet under a 3-4 inch blanket of snow…of course i couldn’t just sit inside – so i grabbed the 5D and hit the streets after dark to capture these stellar shots…

christmas time in the city…

it’s december! so i went out and bought a christmas tree – because yes, even single girls that live in studio apartments should have their own christmas tree. nevermind that i own no decorations (except for one tiny pair of peruvian dolls i bought in s. america) – little white lights alone look just fantastic on the lush green branches…
so i went to the garden district, my neighborhood urban garden shop, and selected a perfect little 5ft. fraser fir. everyone tried (unsuccessfully) to convice me to get a mini-tree, a tabletop-size version, but i wouldn’t have it. the tree looks perfect in my place and so far the cat hasn’t attacked it – although late last night i caught her drinking the water…

happy holidays!

snow beach.

spent a wonderful afternoon with two of my favorite people this weekend…my dad and i went to visit my sister and the beaches of long island…in the snow! yay for december! check us out on long beach – despite the bitter cold and snow flurries it was an incredible experience being on the beach in the winter. steam was swirling off the ocean as we ran along the shore, the sand and snow mixing underfoot with the abundance of sea shells…we weren’t the only brave souls beyond the icy dunes – there was a lone fisherman on the rocks, you can see him in the distance…such a beautiful day at the beach!

enjoy!

smokey + bandit.

more pets! these delightfully energetic kitties belong to my sister who absolutely had to have a mini-photo shoot this weekend! smokey is the gray, younger sister to the striped mr. bandit. they are barely a year old and always on the go – they were skeptical of my camera, sniffing at it, swatting at it, and constantly running from it!

enjoy!

kamm family.

well, technically they will always be the kamm family, however, all three of the kamm girls are married and have families of their own, so this was a very large photo shoot! we spent the morning at quiet waters park in annapolis, such a gorgeous fall backdrop…i absolutely adore these girls for many reasons, the most important being that they are my family as well!
please enjoy my stunningly gorgeous cousins and their amazing families! previously, luci got a post all her own – check it out here.
