meghan vince: charm city lovefest.

i *loved* meeting up with meghan vince a few weeks ago in baltimore for a very fun lifestyle session! we started in federal hill and worked our way across town to fells point, just in time to catch the sun setting on the pier. love that golden light! meghan was so great to photograph – her energy + excitement were amazing, especially since she was surrounded by everything she loves most! i captured some quick headshots for her new photography business { meghan lynn photography } and then photographed her + her boyfriend jim and their two awesome dogs, zoey + izzy! big thanks to meghan + jim for sharing their evening and their love with me!

baby chase: newborn session.

baby chase, 9 weeks.

hello (again!) baby chase! just a few weeks ago i met chase for the first time when he was just 5 weeks old! he was cute as could be, but sleepy and hungry during our session! i captured some serene photographs but wanted a little more action, so i popped back over last week for a quick visit and was amazed at how much he had changed! in just a few weeks his little lips are so full, his eyelashes are gorgeously long (aren’t they always on little boys?) and he was far more interested in my camera than before. he grinned and pouted, laughed and yawned, and passed out right at the end…as if on cue :)

stephanie + steven: engaged!

virginia is for lovers.

ok, i’ll admit it – i’m starting to fall in love with old town. as a dc girl (and born + raised in maryland) i’ve always been slightly leery of my southern neighbor state and long considered everything worthwhile to lay within the district lines. virginia seemed far and foreign, but not in a good way. however, as i am discovering (thanks to amazingly fun couples like stephanie + steven as well as dailycandy) northern virginia is great. it’s cute, it’s quaint, and some of the nooks + crannies of old town have a really good vibe. plus, i dig their slogan and whole-heartedly agree – virginia is for lovers! – and old town is ridiculously sweet for shooting.

back to stephanie + steven…i received a call from steven (ps *love* when the boys get involved and take charge of photography!) and learned that both he + stephanie are journalists who are also passionate about photography (steven having written + shot for natgeo in cairo) and itching for an engagement session. i was able to squeeze them in during my edit marathon weekend last saturday and met up with them at their cute apartment in arlington. after exploring old town (and hitting up the above ICE building that stephanie has had her *great* eye on!) we stopped by the waterfront and then headed back to their apartment. talent runs deep with these two, and steven broke out his guitar and played and sang for stephanie on their couch and i loved being able to capture that as well!

loving this couple and these photos so much! they are headed to louisville next year to tie the knot in stephanie’s home state of kentucky – woohoo!

kristi + jon: engaged!

laughter + kisses.

last sunday i met kristi + jon at gayfields farm on gibson island for their amazing engagement session. i absolutely love shooting in the city, but i was so excited for a change of scenery and was absolutely delighted to discover a pristine horse farm located right on the water. the three of us explored the entire area, wandering through the wooded grounds, walking along the sandy shore, hanging out on the pier and lingering in the horse stables. it was like a fun field trip!

even better, kristi + jon are one of the cutest, happiest, couples i’ve ever photographed – as evidenced by the fact that they are either laughing or kissing (or both!) in every single photograph. these two have amazing energy and are total love birds – i saw it the first time we met and it was fantastic to spend the evening getting to know them in such a gorgeous place. their wedding will be one of the highlights of 2010 and i cannot wait!

people in love make me happy :)

so here’s to love and here’s to my first official couple for 2010!

anna rose: newborn session.

hello baby!

anna rose has arrived!

anna rose is the tiniest baby and *newest* newborn i have ever photographed! at 17 days old and under 8 lbs she is so little and so very perfect! i was thrilled to meet her and amazed that she was so alert throughout our session – her big blue eyes loved my camera! yay!

joe + kristin (her fantastic parents) are thrilled to welcome their third child into the family, and anna rose couldn’t be luckier! this is one of my absolute favorite families – i’ve photographed them many times and i always have a blast and love how the photographs seem to reflect their love so perfectly. they have so much fun together it’s contagious, and i know jules and alexander are so excited to have a new baby sister!

kristin really just wanted photographs of anna rose, but i couldn’t help capturing the amazing moments between mommy + baby! kristin is such a wonderful, loving, gentle, and understanding mother – watching her with anna rose in her arms made me so happy :)

kristin + joe: it’s truly been a joy and a privilege to document your lives so far and i can’t wait for our next session in a few months! thank you for continuing to trust me with preserving your memories.
