brooke + dave: engaged!

oh, brooke + dave!

i love love loved everything about this session (and it wasn’t *just* because they gave me a bag of candy!) – it was because this couple is so cute and so fun! i can’t imagine a better way to spend a rainy fall afternoon than running around town with brooke + dave…they are so happy together and a little rain didn’t bother them at all! besides, dave proposed in the pouring rain in costa rica, so it was kind of fitting for them…plus, i carry an arsenal of hugemongous umbrellas so i had us covered ;)

georgetown was abuzz preparing for halloween festivities, and it was such an awesome feeling to be doing our own sweet thing in the middle of the chaos – yay for engagement photos on halloween!

jessi + joe: married! {vegas style}

viva las vegas!

jessi + joe :: married in *fabulous* las vegas, nevada!

it was just last month that my little sister jessi called me full of excitement – she + joe decided to get married! they made the decision swiftly and without hesitation, and booked flights to vegas for a spontaneous, exciting elopement! technically, i supposed they didn’t really elope after all, since about 15 of their family + friends flew out to celebrate the *cutest* couple of all time. and of course i couldn’t wait to document this absolutely fabulous affair!

their only concern was actually getting married to each other – and they left all the details + logistics in my hands. although i’m familiar with vegas and well versed in weddings, planning even a tiny wedding was a new challenge for me. regardless, within a week we had the chapel, the dress, a suit, and plans for a small dinner reception at wolfgang puck’s postrio in the venetian.

aside from seeing my sister marry the man of her dreams, one of the highlights of the weekend was certainly the AMAZING shoot in the neon graveyard the day they flew into town – a fantastic way to capture their love and kick off the festivities! over the next few days we celebrated jessi + joe in true vegas fashion – with unrestricted excitement, love and energy. it was perfect in every way and of course i was so happy to be able to photograph it all for them!

*i love you more than anything in the world little sister and i am SO thrilled to finally have a brother!! and for once, what happens in vegas doesn’t just stay in vegas!*

yesterday i met two absolutely wonderful couples, continuing my tradition of celebrating halloween by photographing love! i spent the afternoon chatting with leigh + mark (below) about their upcoming wedding next spring and couldn’t help snapping a quick photo of their cuteness before heading to my engagement session with brooke + dave (above!) in georgetown. it was a rainy fall day, but i was totally feeling the love and i am so happy to have met both of these couples! stay tuned for more from brooke + dave’s session as well as a forthcoming engagement session with leigh + mark!

anna rose: baptism!

this past weekend i had the pleasure of documenting anna rose’s baptism at st. mary’s church in annapolis, maryland. st. mary’s is truly stunning and it was a beautiful ceremony. anna rose was perfectly serene, taking it all in and looking delightful in her fabulous little gown! afterwards they had an intimate lunch at maria’s with family + friends.

i loved seeing anna rose – she already looks so different from just a few months ago at her newborn session! i feel so lucky to be able to photograph this amazing family and be a part of their lives and most important moments!
