melissa + joe: married!

he won’t stay without melissa…

melissa + joe are married!

they tied the knot with a fabulous celebration two weeks ago on a sunny august afternoon in downtown annapolis. truly one of the most easy going and happy couples ever, melissa + joe had a perfectly blissful day, just as i expected. their love is strong and quiet, and together they are totally magnetic. i love that every couple has such a unique bond and different type of love *and* that i get to witness it on one of their best days ever – yay for weddings!

the ceremony took place at st. mary’s church – and was absolutely stunning. afterwards we lingered in the courtyard for family photos before heading down to the docks for some more fun ones – causing quite the stir among tourists with our entourage…the bridal party was big and spirited and kept everything exciting as we toured around town in the fabulous party bus!

the reception was at the loew’s annapolis – located right on west street with gorgeous decor and a great annapolis vibe. *plus* the loew’s is a pet-friendly hotel! (and yes, cricket came with me for my annapolis weekend getaway!) after cocktail hour in the atrium, guests moved into the ballroom where dinner was served and the party began! i’ve gotten to know this group very well, both socially and in front of the camera (having photographed many of their friends + bridal party) and i knew to expect some serious action on the dance floor! i was delighted to see some sweet moves and even hear the boys sing for their alma mater (lots of maryland alums in attendance – particularly the bride + groom!) – it was fantastic!

melissa + joe thank you so much for having me! i loved being a part of your wedding day and i’m so happy for you both! congrats!!

missy + mark: married!

missy + mark are married!

they made it official surrounded by their family + friends on the sandy shore at the chesapeake bay foundation – one of my favorite venues – in annapolis, maryland. it was a gorgeous afternoon (even though the wind was whipping around like mad!) and everyone had an amazing time watching this couple throughout the day’s celebration.

and what a celebration it was! mark hails from australia, where he and missy met and started dating, and his family brought the fabulous energy and charm you would expect from our good-natured neighbors down under. and i must say that the americans truly brought the funk – tearing up the dance floor to the righteous tunes of the wild rovers band. let me tell you – there is nothing better than an irish band wearing kilts at an australian/american wedding!

from the moment i met missy + mark i totally dug their vibe – relaxed, down to earth, and totally in love with each other – and i was thrilled that they chose me to document their day. i’m always so amazed and impressed when a bride + groom’s greatest concern is that their guests enjoy themselves and have a great time. i think that is so awesome and it was definitely important to missy + mark. i know everyone had a phenomenal time, and i have the photographs to prove it! from the ceremony + the champagne toast on the beach, to the cocktail hour on the deck and dinner overlooking the ocean and then the rockin’ dance party that followed, the day couldn’t have been any better!

missy + mark: i think the world of you both. your family + friends are amazing and i am so very happy for you! congrats and enjoy!

terri + john: married!

so happy together.

terri + john were married a few weeks ago on a gorgeous may afternoon at the famed st. anne’s episcopal church in annapolis, md. the religious ceremony was inspiring – the church has great historical significance, amazing details and massive, intricate stained glass windows throughout, providing a stunning backdrop for a gorgeous wedding! the ceremony was followed by an afternoon reception at the sheraton featuring delicious food, great dancing, a spirited cake cutting, and a beautiful toast by the best man in which he declared that terri + john deserve all the happiness in the world. it’s obvious that they have found that happiness + love with each other, and you can’t help but be so excited for them!

it was a wonderfully emotional afternoon – terri + john were so thrilled to celebrate their marriage with their families + friends, it was amazing! i was honored to witness their union and document their day and i wish them the best in their life together! enjoy!

ashlee + paul: married!

sweet november.

ashlee + paul kicked off sweet november (my busiest month of the year!) with their fabulous annapolis wedding! i loved ashlee from the moment i met her last spring when, after a series of emails + phone calls, we met while she was in town one weekend taking care of wedding business. she hugged me (i’m big on handshakes, and *huge* on hugs!) and said “i feel like i know you from reading your blog!” anyone who knows how much *love* and attention i give my blog knows how happy that made me, and the rest of the afternoon i chatted with her + her mom as we checked out the church, met with her coordinator at the classy loews hotel, and discussed her vision for her wedding day.

fast forward to the first day of november, when i see ashlee again, getting ready in her hotel room. surrounded by her *amazing* bridesmaids (these girls were the BEST!) i watched her prepare to marry “the man of her dreams”, as her dad said later that night during his toast. dressed in her amazing gown and adorned with her grandmother’s brooch, ashlee looked phenomenal. we boarded the trolley and the girls sang along to the classic wedding tune “going to the chapel…”

the church ceremony was simply gorgeous, everyone’s attention focused on the stunning couple set against a wall of stained glass. afterwards we did a few quick sunset portraits by the water and boarded the trolley for the reception! we arrived at the hotel as the cocktail hour was in full swing, and the celebration escalated throughout the night! every photo from the reception involves smiling, laughing and serious dancing, and i know everyone had the time of their life! a huge shout out to the incredible dan huynh from chris laich music – who kept the dance floor rockin’ and the party going well after i left!

and to ashlee + paul: congratulations you beautiful newlyweds! i am *so* happy for you both and i had an amazing time at your wedding! i wish you a wonderful, fun, fantastic life together!
