paulie + family. (my family!)

my favorite little friend.

this week i’m traveling through the south visiting family, friends and clients and soaking up a little sun before the fall sets in back in dc!

right now i’m spending my days with paul – my awesome cousin who just turned four! he’s so smart, so funny, and witty as can be. he’s keeping me very busy playing spongebob bingo, building super tall lego buildings, making train tracks for thomas + friends, and reading and spelling (he goes to school now!) the sweet return is that he loves having his picture taken and has no inhibitions in front of the camera, not to mention he’s pretty much the cutest thing i have ever seen! i love this little guy!

enjoy!

rin-rin + jon (and company): engaged!

family matters.

meet rin-rin + jon and their awesome family! i am so excited to be photographing their wedding in a few weeks, they are a great couple and had the wonderful idea of doing their session at the national arboretum. it was my first time visiting the arboretum and i loved it! we explored the verdant grounds, admiring the bonsai trees, herb gardens, blooming flowers and trees, and even made our way over to the stately capital columns and grove of state trees.

rin-rin + jon decided to share their engagement session with their best friends: rin-rin’s sister, brother-in-law and adorable niece, who are a huge part of their daily life. i was definitely excited – the more the merrier! i was able to get great photos of rin-rin + jon as well as the whole family and i had a great time getting to know everyone!

enjoy!

zeba + ted: engaged!

a capitol love.

zeba + ted are getting married! i had such a fun afternoon with these two as we ran around the city taking photos and having a great time. ted is a capitol hill police officer, so we started our session at the capitol building where we explored the gorgeous interior of the building with no one else around! it’s been a long time since i’ve shot on the hill and it was really neat to get a private tour of the capitol and hear all the history and stories from ted – i learned so much! afterwards, we headed over to logan circle and explored the neighborhood where we sought out some great urban shots with my favorite graffiti in the city.

i loved spending time with zeba + ted and i can’t wait until their wedding in november! the fabulous alex pare of cherry blossom events is coordinating everything and it’s going to be fabulous! i’m so happy alex introduced us – this is one great couple!

now, enjoy!

matty: lifestyle session.

a rope swing, a giant sunflower, and the many faces of matty.

matty is awesome. from the moment we met he was super flirty (aren’t all little boys?) and loved the attention of my camera. i had no problem making him laugh and catching him being happy + silly, he has a wonderful family and a very happy, fun life :)

i loved chasing matty around his yard, watching him swing on the rope swing and hearing his funny stories – he cracked me up! his parents joined in the shoot for a few fun family photos and i was able to capture some interaction between matty and the baby growing in his mommy’s belly – she’s expecting in just a few months and matty already loves the baby and i can’t wait to come back and see the whole family together!

enjoy!

the whole family!

tina + gerard: married!

one classy couple.

i had the most wonderful time at tina + gerard’s wedding! the entire day was perfect, from the morning appointment at PR at Partners where tina was styled, to the fun getting ready time at the Westin with family + the bridal party! tina was super calm and composed while gerard was super excited – they are such a perfect match! it was a gorgeous (almost fall!) day and we walked around the courthouse area getting fun photos before the evening ceremony…

as guests filed into the ceremony they were serenaded by classic music and the bridal party led the way down the aisle where gerard was anxiously anticipating his bride. tina came down the aisle with her father and i loved the expression on gerard’s face. they were all smiles after they tied the knot and were immediately embraced by their family + friends – hugging, congratulating, and lots of photo taking ensued!

after the amazing cocktail reception tina + gerard entered the ballroom and danced together gracefully as husband and wife… i really enjoyed watching them all evening, they were so blissful and exuded such class as they floated around the room chatting with their guests, posing for photos with all their excited relatives, and kissing every time the clinking of the glasses encouraged them to do so…

tina + gerard: thank you. thank you for choosing me to document your day, thank you for trusting me with preserving your memories, and thank you for welcoming me into your lives and your family on your wedding day – i had an absolutely wonderful time.

now go enjoy aruba! bon voyage newlyweds!!

children’s hospital: circle of care.

celebrating the spirit of philanthropy.

last night i had the opportunity once again to work with children’s hospital. the CNMC circle of care event was held at the national zoo where guests were able to check out the children’s farm, visit the animal hospital, and observe amphibians! celebrity guest doctor bear was there, along with two fantastically entertaining clowns from the big apple circus clown care, and an incredibly talented face painter! it was a wonderful evening with lots of super cute families and adorable children having a great time. a huge thank you to all the extremely generous circle of care members who support children’s hospital!

enjoy!
