i spent an afternoon with my new favorite canine, taj, at his home in encinitas. i love his gorgeous brown eyes, serious gaze and mellow, loving personality. i also love his buddies knu-knu + elgin who came over for a play date!

shihtzu session = happiness.
i absolutely love photographing people with their pets! so i was thrilled when karen contacted me about a session with her adorable and beloved shihtzus, buddha + sumo! it was another very cold winter day in dc, but we braved the windy rooftop and the dog park to get some really fun shots! buddha + sumo have a beautiful home and a fabulous life with their amazing owners! karen + steve: thank you for inviting me into your lives so i could spend the day with your gorgeous + blissful shihtzus – i love them!!!

i just love this photo.
sammy just had his very own photoshoot, and this was by far my favorite image – so cute i had to share it! this totally rambunctious golden retriever will actually wait patiently with his favorite treat on his nose until his owner gives the command to eat it!
i was sooooo impressed!

more pets! these delightfully energetic kitties belong to my sister who absolutely had to have a mini-photo shoot this weekend! smokey is the gray, younger sister to the striped mr. bandit. they are barely a year old and always on the go – they were skeptical of my camera, sniffing at it, swatting at it, and constantly running from it!

ever since i posted about sam + ginger’s doggie photoshoot everyone has been asking if i have any dogs or pets – and the answer is yes!
meet cricket [the notorious 21-year-old cat that i’ve had since i was a little girl] and her “brother” sammy, who belongs to my mom. cricket has had a lot of dogs in her life – poodles, golden retrievers, mutts – but we only ever had one cat! yay for cricket!
