showing love for the district.

i was *delighted* to discover this eco-friendly tote while doing holiday shopping yesterday at PULP in logan circle. it’s one of my favorite gifts since it combines local flavor + local art! i grabbed two of the last bags (one to give, one to keep!) and was lucky enough to meet the artist herself at the shop! she told me that although this design is almost sold out there are more fabulous creations on the horizon for 2009! check out her etsy shop and stay tuned!

lindsey + chris: married!

hello newlyweds, farewell 2008!

lindsey-chris-1913

lindsey + chris are married! this was my final wedding of 2008 and a fantastic way to conclude a phenomenal season! everything about lindsey + chris’ wedding was beautiful, emotional, and wonderfully classy. i teared up more than a few times, struck by the sincerity and magnitude of their true love for each other and their amazing family + friends.

i am so lucky to have such truly incredible clients. at each wedding i continue to be awestruck as i find myself standing in the presence of true love and watching as the most beautiful moments of intense, heartfelt emotion unfold before me. the only thing greater than experiencing all of this love is having the privilege of documenting it and preserving it. i love people and i love love –  and the best gift every single one of my clients has given me is the challenge of capturing that love. in turn, i love giving it back to them, presenting them with images that have so much meaning. images that are passed along online, shared on the pages of albums, displayed on the walls of their homes (on the walls of my home!) and cherished forever. these images, they are more than just photographs – they are the most real and important moments of life and i am so honored that these amazing people with so much love choose me and trust me and love me. and i, in turn, love them.

so it goes without saying that lindsey + chris’ wedding was divine. their love and their faith is inspiring and the way they look at each other is incredible – it’s the perfect mix of elation, adoration and respect that every couple should strive for, not only on their wedding day, but for the rest of their lives.

lindsey + chris: thank you. thank you for your trust, thank you for your friendship, thank you for making me smile, and laugh and cry – i couldn’t ask for anything more! have a wonderful honeymoon, a fabulous holiday, and enjoy the fastest blog i have ever posted!!

here’s to 2008 and here’s to love!

enjoy!

a capital christmas.

a nighttime field trip to the capital christmas tree.

capital-xmas-6949

i stopped by the capital building on my way home from a wedding tonight – the very last wedding on 2008. i was feeling elated, nostalgic and a little adventurous, so when i noticed the newly lit tree in front of the capital, i decided to pull over and snap a few shots. it was so quiet and beautiful – a few others stood in silence and awe, and i clicked a few frames trying to ignore the freezing temperature! the colors were really spectacular and i absolutely *love* the way the lights look when pushed out of focus…

happy, dreamy, sparkly holidays to everyone!
