at the end of september i ventured out into broad creek to photograph the local watermen working their trotlines — fall crabbing! i spent most of the morning aboard dreamer with captain johnny gowe. once again i was so impressed by the dedication of the watermen, and loved watching them scoop up the blue crabs and fill their bushels!

i have returned from an absolutely inspiring and *awesome* road trip across the country…and back! over the next few days i will be posting tons of images of the fantastic places and wonderful people (and pups!) that i photographed. im also preparing to jaunt off again, back to africa in a few short weeks, for a long and much anticipated trip…details to come!

blonde photo :: on the road!

across the usa…and back!

for the next 3 weeks i will be on the road — literally shooting my way across america! woo!

tomorrow morning i start out from dc heading northwest along I80 to chicago! i’ll be spending a few days in each city, visiting friends + photographing clients. this is my second cross-country road trip but with a completely different trajectory. most of the places ive been to before (chicago, san diego, nola — yay!) others im excited to see in a different light (park city sans snow? really? woot!) and others will be a first (austin!) as of now the itinerary looks something like this ::

dc — chicago, il — lincoln, ne — park city, ut — venice beach, ca — san diego, ca — somewhere in the new mexico desert — austin, tx — new orleans — nashville — dc

i probably wont blog from the road, but will definitely be posting (ridiculous/amusing) updates + mobile photos on the blonde photographer’s facebook page — stay tuned!

dhillon :: lifestyle family session!

one very happy little boy at the national arboretum in washington, dc.

i love the national arboretum. it’s an incredible gem in the middle of the city — a vast expanse of refreshing greenery and abundance of shade, it’s the ideal place to spend a summer afternoon! i was very excited to meet dhillon and his family at the arboretum a few weeks ago for a fun family session, grandparents and all! dhillon and his daddy are too cute for words and this little man completely stole my heart with his dapper outfit and *amazing* smile!

kellogg’s champions!

helping to make miracles happen.

amanda signs limited edition cereal boxes at a launch event in maryland.

last week kellogg’s released a limited edition frosted flakes cereal box in partnership with children’s miracle network, featuring the stories of four amazing children. one of the champions — amanda, eight years old and in remission — was at the event along with tony the tiger and doctor bear, speaking with reporters and signing cereal boxes. the limited edition boxes will raise money for children’s miracle network and benefit children’s national medical center. kellogg’s will donate 25 cents from each box, up to $100,000! amazing :)
