i have happy hair!

i’m so thrilled to have discovered the fabulous SUE VOLANS, stylist extraordinaire at BANG SALON in chinatown! she’s a total rockstar and she just moved back into town so if you are looking for a new stylist go see her ASAP before she’s totally booked up! (*also* for my brides! she is an AMAZING stylist who loves doing bridal parties and will totally come to you!!)

she gave me an awesome consultation and i felt totally comfortable just letting her do her thing and i *love* the results! it’s definitely different and a little less blonde, but everyone needs a little change now and then, don’t you think?

photog marathon continues…

hello! i know i’ve been completely slacking blog-wise, email-wise and totally unreachable by phone – and so because that i’m *so* sorry! things have been *crazy* around here, and by crazy i mean outrageously, dizzingly, busy! last week i photographed another wonderful event for children’s hospital, did engagement photos in georgetown on halloween, photographed another amazing wedding in annapolis, and had a record THREE engagement sessions on sunday! the past three days i’ve been covering the 2008 BIG BUILDER conference at the national harbor complex, as well as a swanky election night party last night. i will be back to blogging all of the super-fabulous photos very, very soon, as well as kelcey + peter’s long over due wedding from two weeks ago! so stay tuned!

this weekend i have two more amazing weddings to look forward to: zeba + ted on saturday in dc and rin-rin + jon on sunday at the woodend! the rest of the month is full of more weddings, lifestyle + family portraits, engagements and a number of corporate shoots, as well as holiday parties and get togethers! and to top off the insanity i’ve decided to end the month by cooking thanksgiving dinner at my place this year – woohoo! more craziness to come!

weekend update.

me kicking into gear: fall insanity 2008.

welcome to my sweet weekend roundup! ladies + gentleman may i present 4 incredible shoots in 4 days! one swanky awards dinner, one children’s lifestyle session, an amazing wedding and an anniversary session! how’s that for diversity?

i’m headed out of town tomorrow for an amazing 3 days with two of the *best* photogs on the east coast (more about that later!) so stay tuned! lots to come!

brownie meeting: travel right!

i was so excited to attend my very first brownie meeting this week! one of my wonderful clients and friends melinda leads a local brownie troop and asked me to come speak to the girls as they prepare to earn the travel right badge and plan for their upcoming camping trip!

i had a great time at the meeting and i loved their enthusiasm and interest in photography and all of their many questions! we talked about traveling and the importance of keeping a journal and taking photos as a means to tell a story. some of the girls brought cameras with them and i showed them a few tricks ;)

i’m so happy melinda asked me to come and so thankful that she snapped this *great* shot of me with the girls!

ready, set, go!

photog marathon starts TODAY!

actually, the marathon started two days ago with an early morning session in georgetown…the last two days i have been up before dawn, doing sunrise photoshoots just to be able to squeeze everything in! in between editing, eating and sleeping, i’m shooting more than ever in the next few weeks. this weekend kicks off the crazy fall season with two awesome weddings, followed by a bridal session, two children’s lifestyle sessions, two engagement sessions, an anniversary session, another event for children’s hospital, a classy awards banquet, two corporate headshot sessions, 4 client meetings for 2009 weddings, a cameo appearance at a brownie’s troop meeting (YAY!) and a rockstar 3-day workshop with the oh-so-amazing wiebners! and that’s just october! in november i’m looking forward to 5 awesome weddings as well as engagements + lifestyle sessions. i’ll also be doing another documentary piece for NRH (the national rehabilitation hospital) which i’m very excited about. and…the holidays are coming! i’ve already started scheduling sessions for holiday cards, and i can’t wait! 

so, chances are if you do see me in the next few weeks, a camera will be mounted on my face, as well as a HUGE smile, because it’s going to be crazy and i couldn’t be more excited!! huge thanks to the amazing photographer jessi ringer for this sweet photo of me at margie + jeff’s wedding last month!!
