doodle project!

i am *so* very excited and wanted to share this awesome project that i worked on with the super talented quinn peyser! i approached quinn to create a doodle for our awesome friend jessi. we chose one of meggie velasco’s amazing photos of jessi’s daughter and quinn set to doodling! after she created the the *new* image we printed it through canvas on demand and wah-lah!

best.thing.ever!

we are so happy, jessi *loves* it, and quinn and i can’t wait to start working on more doodle projects soon! do have a photo you want doodled from one of our sessions? or even just one of your own? contact quinnep asap!

my favorite new addition to my office: a sassy green + brown screen print of dc’s neighborhoods from ork! since i’m a proud dc resident as well as a huge fan of classic design, i simply love it.

a feature on musician dave ihmels appeared in today’s LIVE! section of the washington post. i had the pleasure of hearing dave perform at melinda + tim’s awesome post-wedding bash where i shot the above photos. i was thrilled when he told me that the washington post was writing a piece on his work and honored to contribute a photo to the story, which appears online HERE. more importantly, you can catch dave playing music from his independently released CD Expandable, TOMORROW at fireflies in alexandria with linda sublett + todd baker.

a campaign poster for 2012? hardly! simply amusing myself in between severe stretches of editing! i promise, this is the end of ridiculous blog posts…but seriously, i found another amazing fun site to play with! i have MK to blame (and thank!) for directing me to the awesome + amusing obamiconme site – surely enough it provided me with tons of fun. ok, back to work now…

a new twist on the classic one-of-a-kind camera!

just a small sample of some of my favorite *new* poladroids…yes, thats poladroid, not polaroid…poladroid is a program that allows you to create polaroid images from any digital file! it’s awesome! i love my polaroid cameras and i treasure the unique images that they produce, but this is so much fun! i can take my favorite high-res images and tweak them to look like polaroid originals! the actual application is an icon of a polaroid camera on your desktop that you drag images onto…within seconds it “pops” out the photo and you wait for it to develop right before your eyes! it even messes with the color and exposure, resulting in a unique new image! 

i’m in love.

*favorite things include, from top: my favorite wedding image from 2008, me being crazy on the streets of dc, funky random art, my dear 22-year-old cat cricket, and my awesome man with me in los angeles for the EOS launch party.*

something to look at.

i *just* realized that theblondephotographer.com recently hit a record high of 200,000 views over the weekend! i am thrilled and overwhelmed that so many people take the time to look at this site and comment on my work! i feel so very lucky to be able to capture the lives of so many amazing people and share the images here on this blog. a huge thank you to everyone who helped take blonde photo from a whimsical idea to a blossoming success…i couldn’t have asked for a better first year (2008 was incredible!!) and i anticipate even more wonderful things in 2009! woohoo!
