becca + chris: engaged!

this year’s love.

rebecca + christine are engaged!

chris proposed earlier this year in middle of the crazy blizzard and becca emailed me the very next day! i was thrilled to hear the news and couldn’t wait to meet them after hearing their story…becca and chris were as exuberant and fun as i imagined and i absolutely *loved* our session. i had a fantastic time getting to know them while strolling through a myriad of DC’s neighborhoods to capture photos in some of their favorite spots.

courtney + drew: engaged!

springtime in the city.

courtney + drew are engaged!

spring is finally here and dc is abloom with cherry blossoms and forsythia – a floral oasis in the city! i met courtney + drew at senate park in capitol hill and had a great time chatting and walking around finding unique spots. i am very excited to photograph their wedding this summer – what could be better than a rooftop reception at the house of sweden in mid-june? woo!

this couple is smart, cool, laid back, and i loved getting to know them better. yay for engagement sessions!

jennifer + andrew: engaged!

jennifer + andrew are engaged!

these proud university of maryland grads met and fell in love in college and decided it would be a great place for their engagement session! indeed it was *fantastic* – it was my first shoot at a university and it was brilliant! UMD is gorgeous – the architecture and grounds are stunning and we found the most amazing magnolia tree ever – with blooms literally dripping from the low-hanging branches it was perfection!

jenn + andrew had a wonderfully romantic energy and i think the images really reflect that…their one request was that we incorporate testudo, the famed terrapin, and i love the first shot (below) of them kissing over top of the statue (totally jenn’s idea!) i’m so glad i got to meet this couple and wish them all the best! congrats to jenn + andrew!

susannah + jason: engaged!

come sail away with me.

susannah + jason are engaged!

this amazing couple is young, in love, and incredibly ambitious! they are both currently in the naval academy, met on the sailing team, and are clearly head over heels for each other. jason’s quiet+cool vibe is a perfect compliment to susannah’s vibrant and shining personality – i simply loved them! they are planning a summer wedding for next year (after they both graduate) and plan on traveling around the globe – jason on a navy boat and susannah with the marine corps! i was beyond impressed with their passion for life, each other, and the world – cheers to susannah + jason!

michael mary + stephen: engaged!

a dc love story.

things michael mary + stephen love: living in dc, the jefferson memorial, cairn terriers, and each other.

still reeling from their recent engagement (just a few weeks ago!) this lovely young couple simply oozed love during our session! they were all smiles + laughter, sneaking the cutest glances at each other the entire time. they both hail from nearby hometowns in new jersey, but it wasn’t until moving to dc for school that they actually met…how crazy is that? some things are definitely meant to be :)

i was really excited to meet michael mary + stephen – this was just a mini-session to celebrate their engagement + shoot save-the-dates + holiday cards, and they are planning to do another session in the spring! so fun! and since i think it’s great when people include their beloved pets, i loved that they brought their adorable puppy sam along with them for a few photographs! so cute!

erin + pepijn: engaged!

erin + pepijn are engaged!

two weeks ago i met up with this great couple for an engagement session in dc – we started at meridian hill park and made our way to adams morgan along u street. we totally lucked out snagging one of the last warm fall afternoons of the year – it was perfect! erin + pepijn were super cute + excited, and i had a great time! i absolutely love the way they looked at each other, and feel very lucky that i was able to meet them and document their sweet love!
