you can’t run from love.

grand finale: 2009 wedding season!

lian + mark: married! chinatown – washington, dc.

last night i photographed lian + mark’s absolutely epic celebration in dc’s chinatown! from the gorgeous catholic mass to the intriguing chinese tea ceremony to the wild filipino money dance and the photo booth antics – it was amazing! one of the guest’s summed it up perfectly when he offered a hearty congrats to the newlyweds and declared “you guys know how throw a party!” it was the perfect finale to an outstanding year of love + excitement – more photos to come soon!

the return of the pink flamingo.

giving b’more the bird.

the big pink bird once again adorns the exterior of the beloved cafe hon.

last night i attended the awesome pink flamingo re-release at cafe hon in hampden, one of my favorite baltimore neighborhoods! after much controversy, the iconic pink bird was re-affixed to the cafe’s facade, after a short-lived hiatus, looking more fabulous than ever! cafe hon owner denise whiting welcomed the crowd – a sea of excited faces draped in pink boas and waving plastic pink flamingoes – and led everyone in the pledge of allegiance and the flamingo dance! whiting then introduced mayor sheila dixon who did the honors – tugging on a feathered boa which dropped the large tarp and unveiled the shiny new bird. the ever-amazing charlene osborne – baltimore’s best hon 2009 – was present in all her hon glory, posing for her adoring fans and spreading her fantastic energy.

it was a hontastic celebration and media frenzy and i loved being a part of it! oh yeah, and afterwards john waters gave me a hug outside of rocket to venus. it doesn’t get any more bawlmer than that, hon.

enjoy!

flamingo power. like flower power, but pinker. and more radical.

abrianna + zoe: lifestyle family session!

love + laughter.

i simply had the best afternoon photographing this family! we were so lucky to have warm november weather and lots of smiles + laughter from abrianna + zoe!

their dad, kevin, contacted me a few weeks ago to arrange a shoot for all his girls and i was so excited to meet them! i absolutely *love* when men get in touch with me and are super excited about a session – there’s something wonderfully special about that in my opinion :) *plus* there was so much love in this family that i really felt so lucky that they found me – spending time with them was a wonderful experience. there are so many times that i feel like my clients truly make me a better person just because i get the chance to know them – and this session was one of those times.

i met them at their home where i met the coolest (and bigget!) cat ever – freddo! abrianna showed me her room and her artwork and then read to her little sister zoe, keeping her entertained and making her laugh like crazy. they played on their swingset and explored the backyard before we all headed down to the c&o canal for some casual family portraits.

i couldn’t be happier with these images – they totally depict how fun + awesome their session was! enjoy!

freddo rules.
