head over heels.
i wish i could start every day by photographing lori + jamel – and i’m not even kidding. they are an amazing couple and the absolute definition of head-over-heels in love!
it was truly love at first sight for this delightful couple, and their magnetic personalities and visible connection fuels the hopeless romantic in me! their story is amazing, and a testament to destiny, chance and true love. they literally saw each other on a crowed street, and despite being complete strangers separated by an entire country (jamel was living on the west coast at the time) they took a chance on each other and on love at first sight. a few months later, they are happier than ever, and planning their wedding.
we had a sunrise (and surprise!) engagement session in capitol hill (lori’s idea for for jamel’s birthday!) and it was phenomenal! the light was gorgeous, and despite the chilly morning air, this exhuberant couple absolutely shined throughout the shoot! we started at a park near their house and walked around the neighborhood taking advantage of all the vibrant fall foliage. we even strolled through eastern market, one of their favorite places to spend time together.
my favorite thing about lori + jamel was their uninhibited display of love + affection for each other. they laughed easily and fully throughout the session, with brief moments of wonderful intimacy that i was thrilled to capture. lori is absolutely effervescent and jamel is one of the most romantic men i have ever met. together, they are perfect.
