kamm family.

well, technically they will always be the kamm family, however, all three of the kamm girls are married and have families of their own, so this was a very large photo shoot! we spent the morning at quiet waters park in annapolis, such a gorgeous fall backdrop…i absolutely adore these girls for many reasons, the most important being that they are my family as well!
please enjoy my stunningly gorgeous cousins and their amazing families! previously, luci got a post all her own – check it out here.

tutti frutti.

i immediately fell in love with this old painted wall near fells point in baltimore…i finally got the chance to photograph it the other day – yay! i seriously have to check myself or i’d be perfectly content to photograph rugged buildings, funky walls and alley ways all day long.

capital city ball.

hundreds of fabulously dressed washingtonians came out last night for a stellar event – the capital city ball at the washington club in dupont circle. a welcome from host john dunford kicked the evening off, along with a fantastic tango show by the talented dancers from siete tango…i had a fantastic time snapping photos of the table games – the roulette + blackjack dealers were awesome! – the packed dancefloor (everyone adored the incredible 11-piece band BITTERSWEET) and admiring the stunning evening gowns and tuxes.
proceeds from the event and silent auction benefit women to the world – a nonprofit dedicated to connecting “women of resource with women in need.”

enjoy!

polaroids make kids happy.

yes it’s true. parents: buy your children polaroid cameras. forget high-quality digital, kids want instant gratification…i had a blast with these kids a few weeks ago at one of my weddings – they loved my big SLR but kept asking how they could get the pictures out of it – luckily i had my polaroid tucked into my shootsac! i totally made their night and i made 3 new little buddies :)

how cute are they showing off their souvenirs??

chicago: ahf live.

i was in chicago last week photographing AHF LIVE – a conference on affordable housing. highlights included chicago mayor richard daley, former congresswoman nancy johnson, and senator paul sarbanes.

mayor daley is committed to affordable housing and told the audience it is a “top priority for his administration.”
daley2.jpg

Nancy Johnson stressed that at the very least “everyone deserves a modicum of economic and health security.”

Paul Sarbanes called on the audience to make an effort to educate Congress in regards to the housing crisis, insisting that “we need results, and we need them in a hurry.”
